Ray Strong is a senior managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business focused on the energy sector.

Mr. Strong has more than 30 years of investment banking experience and has advised both corporates and master limited partnerships on affiliated transactions, simplifications and buy-ins, including Phillips 66 Partners, MPLX, Nustar, Valero Energy Partners, TC Pipelines, DCP Midstream, Tesoro Logistics, Enlink Midstream Partners and Western Gas Partners.

Other notable transactions include advising Kinder Morgan on its acquisition of El Paso Corp.; Blackrock on its acquisition of Vanguard Renewables; the Special Committee of Continental Resources on its take private; Southern Union on its sale to Energy Transfer Equity; Suburban Propane on the acquisition of Inergy’s propane assets; Calumet Specialty Products on the acquisition of Montana Refining Company; Niska Gas Storage on its sale to Brookfield Infrastructure; Kinder Morgan and a consortium of financial sponsors on Kinder Morgan’s $22 billion management buyout; Union Pacific Resources Group on its sale to Anadarko Petroleum; and Crystal Gas Storage on its sale to El Paso Corp.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Strong was a managing director at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he led the firm’s midstream energy, MLP and downstream energy practice.

He serves on the Mystic Seaport Museum’s board of trustees and holds a B.A. from Middlebury College.
