Melissa Spaen is a managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business focused on consumer and retail.

Since joining Evercore, Ms. Spaen has advised clients on strategic transactions across M&A, financing and equity capital markets. Notable deals include Campbell’s acquisition of Sovos Brands and sale of Plum Organics; Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s sale of a majority of his interest in D’Usse Cognac to Bacardi; Keurig Dr. Pepper’s investment in Nutrabolt and Athletic Brewing, Monster’s acquisition of CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective; Vita Coco’s IPO and follow-on offering; Duckhorn’s IPO and follow-on offering; and Energizer’s acquisition of Spectrum’s Rayovac battery business and global auto care business.

Prior to joining Evercore in 2018, Ms. Spaen worked in investment banking coverage at Deutsche Bank in New York and Amsterdam.

She earned an M.S. in financial economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a B.S. in international business from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
