Jim Birle is a senior advisor in the firm’s strategic advisory business. He previously served as head of Evercore’s Equity Capital Markets group for over a decade.

Prior to Evercore, Mr. Birle was head of global equity capital markets at Merrill Lynch. He spent the majority of his 20-year career at Merrill Lynch in equity capital markets and was a member of the firm’s equity and investment banking operating committees. Mr. Birle began his career at Merrill Lynch in the high-yield and restructuring investment banking group. He also worked at the Philadelphia National Bank.

Mr. Birle earned a B.A. in history from Lafayette College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
