Finula Cilliers
Finula Cilliers is a senior advisor in Evercore’s European Debt Advisory business. Previously, she was responsible for leading Evercore’s specialist market risk and hedging advisory capability.
Notable transactions include advising BMS on its interest rate hedging in its $90bn takeover of Celgene; advising Takeda on its FX and rates hedging in its $79bn takeover of Shire; 3i on its acquisition of Eiser’s infrastructure portfolio; Severn Trent on its ground-breaking inflation trades, bond issues and associated hedging; Viesgo on its refinancing and associated hedging; Roadchef on its refinancing; Ancala on its acquisition financing of IEG; Lynemouth Power on its foreign exchange and inflation risk in biomass conversion project; Arqiva on its $4bn refinancing and £2.6bn of hedging; and Open Grid Europe on hedging its €2.7bn bank and euro-bond financing.
Mrs. Cilliers was previously at Rothschild in London and head of its derivatives and hedging advisory team, which she founded 20 years ago. She has more than 30 years of experience providing advice to clients regarding derivatives structuring, risk management, and structured finance. During her career, she has focused on hedging and derivatives advisory work.
Mrs. Cilliers is a member of the Insight independent panel overseeing the Government Liquidity Fund and was previously a member of the With Profits Committee of Standard Life and Rothschild Pension Fund.
She has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in applied mathematics from the University of St. Andrews.
