David Sell is a managing director in Evercore’s financial institutions group based in Chicago.

Before joining Evercore, Mr. Sell spent 10 years at Citi, focusing on the banking and specialty finance sectors.

Mr. Sell has advised on several notable strategic transactions, including PNC’s divestiture of its stake in BlackRock and subsequent acquisition of BBVA USA; Sterling’s mergers with Webster and Astoria; CIBC’s acquisition of PrivateBancorp; Fifth Third’s acquisition of MB Financial; TD’s acquisition of Scottrade Bank; and GM’s divestiture of European financial operations to Peugeot and BNP.

He holds a B.S. in business administration from Boston University.
