Stephen Richardson

Stephen Richardson is a senior managing director covering global energy. His coverage spans the integrated oils, refining & marketing, oil & gas exploration and production, and oilfield services & drilling industries. Coverage includes 40-plus stocks across all energy sector verticals. He also has responsibility for the firm’s crude oil and natural gas macro view and price forecasts.

Mr. Richardson has been named to the Extel (formerly Institutional Investor) All-America Research Team since 2012, achieving a top-3 ranking since 2018 in his sectors, including a 2025 rank of No. 2 in the oil & gas exploration and production category.

Prior to joining Evercore ISI, Mr. Richardson covered the energy sector in equity research at both Deutsche Bank & Morgan Stanley.

He is a graduate of McGill University and holds an MBA from École des Hautes Études Commerciales.
