Stuart Francis
Stuart Francis is the senior investment banker responsible for Evercore’s relationships with many large and important technology clients.
Mr. Francis has advised on numerous industry-defining deals, including Qualcomm’s strategic review and rejection of the hostile offer from Broadcom for $149 billion; Qualcomm’s announced and terminated agreement to acquire NXP for $47 billion; Qualcomm and SSW’s acquisition of Veoneer for $4.6 billion, and 20 additional Qualcomm deals; EMC’s $67 billion sale to Dell; Dell’s exchange offer for DVMT shares; Abbott’s $31 billion acquisition of St. Jude Medical and $7 billion acquisition of Alere; Tesla’s acquisition of Solar City; and Palo Alto Networks’ acquisition of Demisto for $560 million.
Mr. Francis also advised on IPOs and equity offerings for Amgen, Applied Materials, Avago, Cisco Systems, Facebook, Google, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsara and Workday.
Prior to joining Evercore in 2014, Mr. Francis was vice chairman of Lehman Brothers and then Barclays after it acquired Lehman’s U.S. business. His career began with Smith Barney.
Mr. Francis was president of the U.S. Golf Association from 2020 to 2023. Previously, he served as board chair of the San Francisco Ballet and was also board chair of Menlo School. He is a member of the Ohio Golf Association Hall of Fame.
He earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Princeton University.
