Steven Todrys
Steve Todrys is a senior advisor in the firm’s investment banking business with over 40 years of experience in advising on tax and structuring matters.
Representative transactions he has worked on since joining Evercore include United Technologies’ spinoffs of Carrier and Otis, and UTC’s merger with Raytheon; Rexnord’s spinoff of its motion control business and merger with Regal Beloit; the merger of DuPont and Dow Chemical and the subsequent spinoffs of their agriculture and materials businesses; the spinoff of DuPont’s nutrition and biosciences business and its merger with IFF; the spinoff of Cerence by Nuance Communications; the acquisition of Celgene by Bristol-Myers Squibb; Takeda’s acquisition of Shire; the acquisition of Nuance by Microsoft; the sale of MGM Growth Properties to VICI Properties; and the conversion of KKR and Carlyle from publicly traded partnerships to C corporations.Previously, Mr. Todrys was a partner and the head of the tax practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. He has focused on corporate mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, joint ventures and restructurings.
Mr. Todrys received his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago. He was chair of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association in 1998.
