Santiago Garavito
Santiago Garavito is a managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory practice, focusing on M&A and capital structure across the energy sector.
Mr. Garavito has over a decade of investment banking experience advising on a range of transactions, including M&A, divestitures, joint ventures, debt advisory, liability management, in- and out-of-court restructurings, and equity and debt underwritings.
At Evercore, notable deals include advising Clayton Williams Energy on its sale to Noble Energy; Marathon Oil on its entry into the Delaware Basin; and Jones Energy on its issuance of $450 million senior secured notes, $1 billion Chapter 11 filing and subsequent corporate sale.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Garavito worked as an associate for Scotia Waterous, the oil & gas investment banking arm of Scotiabank. Earlier in his career, he worked in public accounting at Ernst & Young.
Mr. Garavito earned a B.B.A. in business and finance from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
