Nancy Shavel Gabel
Nancy Gabel is a Partner and Financial Advisor at Evercore Wealth Management and a Managing Director at Evercore Trust Company, N.A., working in a business development role with high net worth families and their outside advisors. She has over 30 years of experience as a trusts and estates attorney and in issues surrounding intergenerational wealth.
Prior to joining Evercore in 2008, Ms. Gabel ran the estate planning department at U.S. Trust and headed the firm’s intergenerational wealth planning group. She previously worked at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson as a trust and estates lawyer.
Ms. Gabel earned a B.A., magna cum laude, from Ithaca College and her J.D. from New England School of Law. She is a member of both the New York and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
Ms. Gabel is the co-chair of the Wilson Society Advisory Council at the Hospital for Special Surgery. She was a founding member and continues to be a member of the UJA-Federation of New York’s Lawyer’s Division Trusts & Estates Group. She also serves as a member of the Lincoln Center Professional Advisor’s Council, Metropolitan Museum’s Planned Giving Professional Advisor’s Council, the New York Regional Council for the National YoungArts Foundation, and the Central Park Conservancy, Planned Giving Professional Advisory Council. Nancy previously sat on the board of the Irvington Institute for Immunological Research, the Museum of Modern Art Planned Giving Advisory Committee, the Weill – Cornell Medical College – Women’s Health Symposium Executive Steering Committee, and the Northwestern University Parents’ Fund Committee.
