Michael Yingmeng Wu
Michael Wu is a managing director in the firm’s Technology advisory business and focuses on the software sector. He is based in Menlo Park.
Mr. Wu has extensive experience advising on transactions across public equity, debt, private capital and M&A in both the application and cybersecurity software sectors. Recent deals include Mimecast’s sale to Permira; initial public offerings for Expensify, Sprinklr and WalkMe; Amplitude’s direct listing; Dragoneer’s two SPAC mergers with CCC Intelligent Solutions and Cvent Holding; and Deep Instinct’s Series D private placement.
Most recently, Mr. Wu was a director at Citigroup in its software investment banking group, and before that, an equity research associate at JMP Securities. Prior to his career in finance, Mr. Wu was as an electrical engineer at Apple and a member of the original iPad engineering team.
Mr. Wu has a Master of Financial Engineering from University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley, with a minor in music.
