Mark Whatley
Mark Whatley is a senior managing director in the firm’s investment banking business. He is a highly experienced advisor to companies worldwide and has represented corporate clients, alternative asset managers, private equity funds and special committees on M&A, capital raising alternatives and restructuring transactions.
Since joining Evercore in 2009, he has helped develop a global, industry-leading transportation investment banking franchise, primarily focusing on the aviation, maritime and transportation services industry verticals. Over his career, he has advised on more than 200 successful transactions aggregating more than $130 billion in transaction value.
He began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he helped develop the gaming, leisure & transportation group into a market leader of advisory and underwriting services.
Mr. Whatley is a board member of The 52nd Street Project, a NYC nonprofit organization focused on enhancing the community for children in Hell’s Kitchen, and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the McCombs School of Business and the Development Board at the University of Texas at Austin.
He earned a B.A. in economics and finance from Trinity University and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
