Marcel Hewamudalige
Marcel A. Hewamudalige is a senior managing director in the firm’s energy advisory business based in Houston.
Mr. Hewamudalige has more than 17 years of investment banking experience advising public and private companies in the upstream oil & gas and broader energy sectors.
He has advised on a range of transactions, including M&A, divestitures, debt advisory, liability management and equity and debt underwritings. Recent clients and notable strategic deals include Bonavista Energy, Canvas Energy, Chisholm Oil & Gas, Denbury Resources, Diversified Energy, EdgeMarc Energy, Fieldwood Energy, Gulfport Energy, Jones Energy, Jonah Energy, Jupiter Resources, PureWest Energy, Revolution Resources, Ultra Petroleum and Unit Corp.
Prior to joining Evercore in 2017, Mr. Hewamudalige was an executive director at Morgan Stanley, working exclusively with clients in the natural resources sector across the Americas. Strategic deals he advised on involved Antero Resources, Encana, ExxonMobil, Imperial Oil, Independence Contract Drilling, InterOil, Oasis Petroleum, PrimeWest Energy, Real Resources, Royal Dutch Shell, Sasol, Statoil, Suncor Energy, Sunshine Oilsands, Total, Tyler Resources and Vine Oil & Gas.
He earned his B.A. in economics from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
