Jonathon Kaufman is a senior managing director in Evercore’s Infrastructure, Utilities and Renewables group. He leads the firm’s efforts across utilities and renewables in New York.

Over his more than 20-year career, Mr. Kaufman has advised on M&A and capital markets across renewables, energy transition, conventional power and utility transactions for corporate, private equity and infrastructure funds. He has experience in key energy transition areas, such as wind, solar, battery storage, waste to energy, EV charging, retail energy and energy efficiency.

Recent transactions include advising NRG in the defense against Elliott Management; DSD Renewables on the strategic investment from Cox Enterprises; and Talen Energy on its restructuring and Go-Shop. He also acted as lead bookrunner for EVgo on its follow-on offerings, and he advised CPP on its investment into Redaptive; ADT on the strategic investment by State Farm/Google; and Enstructure on its equity and debt recapitalization.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Kaufman was the global co-head of the energy and infrastructure group at Credit Suisse, where he’d previously served as global head of the infrastructure, utilities and renewables group. Earlier in his career, he was a managing director at Deutsche Bank.

Mr. Kaufman earned a B.A. in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
