George Karalis
George Karalis is managing director in Evercore’s European debt advisory business. He is responsible for leading Evercore’s specialist derivatives and hedging advisory practice.
Notable transactions at Evercore include advising Thames Water on a c.£0.5bn capital raise and c.£2bn inflation hedging program; National Grid as capital structure advisor in relation to its National Gas sale processes; OTPP as debt advisor for its acquisition of SSE’s electricity transmission asset; Pine Bridge Benson Elliot on raising development financing for its Sigma Capital, single-family housing, BTR portfolio; and Saudi Aramco on financial risk management policy.
Mr. Karalis has more than 15 years of debt and derivatives advisory as well as corporate treasury experience. He joined Evercore from Centrus Advisors, where he was managing director responsible for debt and derivatives advisory. Before that, he was with Chatham Financial, focused on corporate and private equity clients. Mr. Karalis also worked in the capital markets team at National Grid and at Angelicoussis Shipping Group.
Mr. Karalis is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers in the U.K. and has an MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
