Edmund Baxter
Edmund Baxter is a senior managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business. Based in Menlo Park, he focuses on clients in the life sciences sector.
Prior to joining Evercore in 2015, Mr. Baxter was a senior managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, heading West Coast life sciences coverage. With extensive investment banking experience across strategic advisory, equity capital markets and debt capital markets, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to investment banking clients in healthcare.
Notable strategic transactions include advising on BioMarin Pharmaceutical’s acquisition of Prosensa Holding, the sale of Furiex Pharmaceuticals to Forest Laboratories, the sale of Ardea Biosciences to AstraZeneca, the separation of Theravance Biopharma from Theravance, and Gilead Sciences’ acquisition of Pharmasset. He has also advised on numerous capital markets transactions, including equity, convertible debt, traditional debt and royalty financings.
Mr. Baxter received his MBA as a Palmer Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and his B.S. in finance from San Diego State University.
