Edmund Baxter is a senior managing director in Evercore’s strategic advisory practice. Based in Menlo Park, he has advised leading life sciences companies on mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, and capital markets and royalty financings for nearly 30 years

Mr. Baxter joined Evercore in 2015 following his tenure at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was a senior managing director and head of West Coast life sciences coverage.

Notable advisory experience includes advising Longboard Pharmaceuticals on its sale to Lundbeck; Jazz Pharmaceuticals on its acquisition of GW Pharmaceuticals; Oncoceutics on its sale to Chimerix; XinThera on its sale to Gilead Sciences; Medivation on its defense from Sanofi and sale to Pfizer; and Gilead Sciences on its acquisition of Pharmasset. He has also advised on many of the industry’s noteworthy spinoffs, including Longboard Pharma from Arena Pharma; Theravance Biopharma from Innoviva; Facet Biotech from PDL BioPharma; APP Pharma from Abraxis BioScience; and Advanced Medical Optics from Allergan.

Mr. Baxter earned a B.S. in finance from San Diego State University and received his MBA as a Palmer Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
