Ed Banks
Ed Banks is a senior managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business.
Mr. Banks has over 30 years’ experience advising on mergers, acquisitions and capital raisings. He has advised on well over 100 completed deals in the U.K. and Europe, including some of the largest and most complex takeovers. His recent transaction experience includes advising AstraZeneca on the acquisition of Alexion; Comcast on the acquisition of Sky; NEX on the takeover by CME; and Shire on its acquisition of Baxalta and takeover offer from AbbVie. He has particular expertise in public takeovers, shareholder activism, raid defence, and a broad range of private transactions and capital raisings across many industries.
Prior to joining Evercore in 2007, Mr. Banks was a managing director in mergers and acquisitions for JPMorgan Cazenove and also served as a managing director in JPMorgan’s U.K. team.
Mr. Banks is a graduate of Oxford University.
