David Ying is a senior managing director and founder of the firm’s Liability Management & Restructuring group.

Prior to joining Evercore in 2005, he led restructuring groups at Drexel Burnham in the 1980s and DLJ in the 1990s, and was at the forefront of many of the innovations in leveraged finance and restructurings, including exchange offers, exit consents, out-of-court rescue financings, prepackaged bankruptcies, debtor in possession financings and Section 363 sales.
