David Waring
David Waring has 30-plus years of corporate finance experience and leads the firm’s Energy team in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) covering the oil & gas sector as well as energy transition subsectors, particularly hydrogen, CCS, biofuels and EV charging.
Notable recent transactions include introducing a strategic partner and capital to the hydrogen business Everfuel, as well as advising TransGlobe on its merger with VAALCO; Technip Energies on the sale of a cornerstone equity stake to HAL Investments; Sparrows on its sale to Altrad; Saudi Aramco on its IPO; Eland U.K. on the public takeover by Seplat; Kosmos on its farmout of assets in Senegal/Mauritania to BP; ENI’s Control and Risk Committee on the sale of a 12.5% stake in Saipem to FSI; and TNK-BP on its sale to Rosneft.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Waring was a partner at Lexicon Partners, acquired by Evercore in 2011. He also was a managing director at UBS Investment Bank, where he served as head of the energy, power & utilities group in EMEA and as a member of the EMEA banking management committee. Previously, he worked at Deutsche Bank, consolidating entities as a managing director and head of energy.
He earned a master’s in geography from Oxford University.
