Brian Smith is a managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business, with a focus on the biopharmaceutical sector.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Smith spent two years in the global healthcare group at BofA Merrill Lynch, where he advised life sciences clients, including Alexion on its acquisition of Wilson Therapeutics and Adapt Pharma on its sale to Emergent BioSolutions, in addition to working on numerous financings. Previously, Mr. Smith spent eight years at Mylan, most recently overseeing global M&A efforts, and was involved in the acquisitions of Meda, Renaissance Pharma, Apicore, Famy Care, Abbott’s non-U.S. developed markets established products business as well as many product acquisitions, and the biosimilar collaboration with Momenta.

Mr. Smith earned an A.B. in politics from Princeton University.
