Alexander Russ is a senior managing director at Evercore and head of North America for the firm’s Private Funds Group.

Mr. Russ is a founding partner of Evercore’s Private Funds Group, which was established at the firm in 2010. Previously, he was an executive director in the alternatives advisory and placement group at Neuberger Berman, formerly part of Lehman Brothers’ investment management division. At Lehman Brothers, Mr. Russ was responsible for capital raising for the private equity division in Europe. He also served as a product specialist in the absolute return strategies group in New York and London, where he oversaw distribution of the firm’s hedge fund, commodity and other liquid alternatives products. He began his career in Lehman Brothers’ investment banking division, focused on capital markets financings in the communications and media group.

Mr. Russ graduated with honors from Amherst College, earning a B.A. with a concentration in English.
