Alexander Kowell

Alexander P. Kowell is a managing director in the firm’s technology strategic advisory practice and focuses on the software sector.

Mr. Kowell has advised on over 25 completed transactions with an aggregate value of ~$60 billion. Select deals include the sale of a substantial stake in Tricentis to GTCR; the sale of substantial stakes in Keyfactor to Sixth Street and Summit Partners; Drake Software’s acquisition of TaxAct from Blucora; FIS’s acquisition of Worldpay; the sale of Affymetrix to Thermo Fisher Scientific; the successful hostile defense of Depomed; and the Series B capital raise of Magic Leap.

Before joining Evercore, Mr. Kowell was a principal at Centerview Partners in its technology group and a vice president at Morgan Stanley in its M&A group. Earlier, he was an associate at private equity and debt firm Black Canyon Capital after being an analyst at Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Kowell earned an A.B. in biochemical sciences from Harvard College and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
