Eduardo Mestre is the chairman of Investment Banking and a senior managing director. He also serves as chairman of Evercore’s Global Diversity Council.

Since joining Evercore, Mr. Mestre has been involved in many of the firm’s most important transactions across numerous industry sectors, including media, consumer, industrials, chemicals, and financial institutions.

Select transactions include representing CoreSite Realty in its sale to American Tower, Comcast in its acquisition of Sky, Pinnacle Foods in its sale to Conagra, Whole Foods in its sale to Amazon, and DuPont in its merger with Dow Chemical.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Mestre was chairman of Citigroup’s investment banking division, head of investment banking at Citigroup and its predecessor firms, and co-head of Salomon Brothers’ M&A department. Earlier in his career, he was an associate with the law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.

Mr. Mestre is on the boards of the International Rescue Committee, and the Cuba Study Group. He is past chairman of the board of trustees for both the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and WNYC.

Mr. Mestre, who was born in Havana, Cuba, graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University with a B.A. degree in economics and political science, and is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School.
