Ed Hyman

Ed Hyman is senior chairman of Equities and vice chairman of Evercore. For 49 years, Mr. Hyman was ranked in economics by the Institutional Investor (now Extel) poll of investors, achieving a No. 1 ranking a record 44 times.

Prior to joining Evercore in 2014, Mr. Hyman was the chairman and founder of ISI Group, whose broker-dealer clients were institutional investors in the U.S. and abroad. Before ISI, Mr. Hyman served as vice chairman and board member of C.J. Lawrence, which he joined in 1972. Earlier in his career, he was an economic consultant at Data Resources from 1969 to 1971.

Mr. Hyman was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame in 2024, was a University of Texas Distinguished Alumnus recipient in 2023 and was named to the Institutional Investor (now Extel) Inaugural All-America Research Team Hall of Fame Class of 2012.

Mr. Hyman is a member of the Finance Committee of Bowdoin College. His previous board assignments and memberships include the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Capital Trust (NYSE: CT), Said Holdings Ltd., 10 Gracie Square, Saint David’s School, Collegiate School and The Economic Club of New York.

Mr. Hyman earned a B.S. in engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from MIT.
