Damien Fisher

Damien Fisher is a senior managing director in Evercore’s strategic advisory practice, focused on strategic M&A, takeover and activism defense, and special committee situations. He advises boards and senior management teams on unsolicited approaches, proxy contests, corporate governance matters, separations, recapitalizations and other complex transactions.

Mr. Fisher has advised on more than $500 billion of M&A and strategic advisory assignments over nearly two decades. His notable assignments include advising U.S. Steel on its sale to Nippon Steel and related defense and proxy contest; Unilever on its defense against Trian Partners; Ritchie Bros. on its acquisition of IAA and related proxy contest; STORE Capital on its sale to GIC and Oak Street; MGM Growth Properties on its sale to VICI; KKR on its C-corp conversion and dual-class recapitalization; Aimco on its separation of AIRC, takeover defense and defense against Land & Buildings; Victoria’s Secret on its proxy contest against BBRC; and Motorola on its proxy contest against Carl Icahn, separation of Motorola Mobility and sale of its enterprise business to Zebra Technologies.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Fisher spent approximately a decade in J.P. Morgan’s global M&A group in New York, advising clients across real estate, gaming and lodging, consumer and retail, technology and industrials. At J.P. Morgan, he served as a policy officer to the firm’s fairness and valuation committee and was a member of its corporate defense and shareholder activism practice.

Mr. Fisher holds an MBA from the Wharton School and an M.A. from University of Pennsylvania’s Lauder Institute. He graduated magna cum laude with an M.Sc. in computer science and economics from the University of Zurich.
