Steven Todrys

Steve Todrys is a senior advisor in the firm’s strategic advisory practice with over 40 years of experience in advising on tax and structuring matters.

Mr. Todrys was previously a partner and the head of the tax practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.  He has focused on corporate mergers and acquisitions, spinoffs, joint ventures and restructurings.

Representative transactions he has worked on since joining Evercore include United Technologies’ spinoffs of Carrier and Otis and UTC’s merger with Raytheon; Becton Dickinson’s separation of its life sciences business and combination with Waters; the merger of DuPont and Dow Chemical and the subsequent spinoffs of their agriculture and materials businesses; the spinoff of DuPont’s nutrition and biosciences business and its merger with IFF; Global Infrastructure Partners’ sale to BlackRock; the acquisition of Ansys by Synopsys; the merger of Westrock with Smurfit; the acquisition of Celgene by Bristol-Myers Squibb; the acquisition of Nuance by Microsoft; and the sale of MGM Growth Properties to VICI Properties.

Mr. Todrys earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago. He was chair of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association in 1998.
