Matthew Basch

Matthew Basch is a senior managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory business and is based in Chicago.

At Evercore, Mr. Basch focuses on advising packaging, paper and related businesses globally. With over 20 years of investment banking experience, he has advised on a number of notable strategic transactions for public and private clients as well as financial sponsors, including Altium Packaging, Crown Holdings, Five Star (TJC), IPL (Madison Dearborn Partners), Novolex (Apollo), Pregis, Precision Concepts (The Sterling Group), Sealed Air, TricorBraun (Ares) and Trivium Packaging (OTPP).

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Basch was a director in the industrials group at Barclays and its predecessor, Lehman Brothers, with a focus on the packaging and paper & forest products sectors.  He also previously worked at Croft & Bender and A.G. Edwards in various strategic advisory roles.

Mr. Basch earned a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
