Ari Berger

Ari Berger, a senior managing director in the firm’s strategic advisory practice, co-heads the consumer retail group.

With more than 25 years in the industry, Mr. Berger has extensive experience across the full spectrum of investment banking transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, defense advisory and restructurings.

He has been a trusted advisor on a number of notable transactions, including Foot Locker on its pending $2.5 billion sale to DICK’S Sporting Goods; Hanesbrands on the divestiture of Champion; and many other sell-side transactions, including RugsUSA, Supervalu, Save-A-Lot, Mattress Firm, Grocery Outlet, Yankee Candle, Dollar General, Reebok and Toys “R” Us.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Berger worked in the respective consumer retail groups of Barclays, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse.

He holds a B.S. in economics and mathematics from Duke University.
