Stuart Wright

Stuart Wright is a managing director in Evercore’s global metals, materials & mining strategic advisory practice, where he focuses on EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Wright was an executive director on Morgan Stanley’s U.K. and Ireland coverage team. He has more than 10 years of experience advising clients across the base metals, bulk commodities, precious metals and diversified mining sectors, with a particular focus on public and private M&A.

His notable M&A and financing transactions include advising on Anglo American’s defence against multiple approaches from BHP, as well as its merger with Teck Resources and proposed sale of De Beers, and Harmony Gold’s acquisition of the Mponeng mine from AngloGold Ashanti. High-profile deals in other sectors include Advent’s proposed acquisition of Spectris plc, Mars’ acquisition of Hotel Chocolat and I Squared Capital’s acquisition of Arriva.

Mr. Wright graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a qualified chartered accountant in South Africa.
