Marco Gaeta

Marco Gaeta is a managing director in Evercore’s strategic advisory practice, specialising in financial services.

Mr. Gaeta has advised on a wide range of landmark M&A, reinsurance and capital markets transactions supporting financial institutions across Europe.

Select M&A experience includes advising Generali on its acquisition of Liberty Seguros and on the restructuring of its Indian operations; Aviva on its acquisition of Direct Line; Cattolica Assicurazioni on the takeover offer launched by Generali; and The Hartford on the sale of Navigators Europe to Premia. In Italy, he also advised BPER Banca on the UnipolBanca acquisition, and Banco BPM on its merger with Banco Popolare.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Gaeta spent 13 years at Citi within the financial institutions group, focusing initially on Italian clients and then on EMEA insurance. He began his career in audit at EY in the financial services practice.

He holds an M.Sc. in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University and also studied at Maastricht University.
