Kirk Materne is a senior managing director responsible for research coverage of the enterprise and application software industries.

Mr. Materne was ranked as a runner-up for his coverage of large-cap software in the 2022 and 2021 Institutional Investor poll. He was also ranked as a runner-up in the magazine’s All-America Research Team for SMID-cap software in 2021 and software in 2020.

Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Materne was director of research and senior research analyst responsible for covering the software industry at Rafferty Capital Markets. Before that, he was at Banc of America Securities, serving as principal and head of the software research team, covering more than 25 software companies across all market caps. He also worked at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he followed computer services stocks as part of an Institutional Investor-ranked team. He began his career at Andersen Consulting in New York City.

Mr. Materne, a chartered financial analyst, received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
