David Togut
David Togut is a senior managing director responsible for equity research coverage of payments, processors & IT services.
For the past 30 years, Mr. Togut has researched payments, financial technology and IT services stocks. In 2020, he ranked No. 4 in the Institutional Investor All-America Research survey in the payments, processors & IT services sector; his first recognition by the magazine was a No. 2 ranking in the predecessor category, “computer services,” in 1994.
Prior to joining Evercore in 2010, Mr. Togut researched stocks for First Manhattan Company, a value-oriented money manager. Previously, he was an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley and covered the payments, processors & IT services industries after leading the global IT services team and serving as managing director. He also analyzed payments, processors & IT services stocks at CS First Boston. He began his investment career at Fred Alger Management, researching technology and energy stocks.
Every year from 1994 to 2004, Mr. Togut was ranked the No. 1 or No. 2 computer services industry analyst by Institutional Investor or Greenwich Research Associates.
Mr. Togut earned an A.B. in history from Brown University and an MBA in finance and accounting from Columbia Business School. He is a chartered financial analyst.
