Andrew Sibbald
Andrew Sibbald is chairman and senior managing director of Evercore’s European investment banking business, based in London.
Mr. Sibbald has over 35 years of experience in advising financial institutions on M&A and corporate finance. Notable transactions include advising Arcmont on its pending sale to Nuveen; CFC Underwriting on its sale to EQT and Vitruvian Partners; the AA on its sale to Warburg Pincus and TowerBrook Capital; M&G on its demerger from Prudential; Partnership Assurance on its all share merger with Just Retirement Group; Prudential on its successful bid defence following an approach from Aviva; and the IPOs of Benfield, Admiral, Hargreaves Lansdown and Old Mutual Asset Management.
Mr. Sibbald was previously the co-founder and senior partner of Lexicon Partners, acquired by Evercore in 2011. Prior to founding Lexicon Partners in 2000, Mr. Sibbald was a managing director at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he led a team specialising in M&A in the financial institutions sector. Before that he was a partner in The Phoenix Partnership.
Mr. Sibbald is a vice president of Save the Children (U.K.) and an honorary visiting professor in Bayes Business School.
He earned a degree in economics and accounting from Bristol University.
