Rafael Polanco is a Managing Director of the firm’s Corporate Advisory business.
At Evercore, Mr. Polanco has been involved in the sale of a minority stake in Vista Equity Partners to an investor group led by Dyal Capital Partners, the $37 billion sale of Broadcom to Avago Technologies, the acquisition of ISI Group by Evercore, the minority investment by Reverence Capital in connection with the acquisition of Munder Capital by Victory Capital, the sale of Butterfield Fulcrum to Mitsubishi UFJ, the sale of CFIG by Credit Suisse to Grosvenor Capital, the acquisition of a minority stake in Providence Equity Partners by the State of Florida Board of Administration and the Kuwait Investment Authority, the restructuring of a package of economic rights owned by a $10 billion AUM multi-strategy alternative asset manager in another $10 billion AUM alternative asset manager, the $1 billion sale of GlobeOp Financial Services to SS&C Technologies, the acquisition of a minority stake in Lexington Partners by the State of Florida Board of Administration, the sale of a minority ownership stake of Silver Lake to CalPERS, the $2.6 billion capital raise and ABS portfolio sale by E*TRADE to Citadel Investment Group, the $8 billion acquisition by Swiss Re of General Electric's reinsurance assets, the $10 billion sale of Credit Suisse's Winterthur business to AXA, the $500 million acquisition by Dow Jones of MarketWatch, the $2.7 billion capital raise by MGM MIRAGE in conjunction with restructuring alternatives affecting approximately $14 billion of debt, the $9 billion sale of Realogy to Apollo Management, the $4.3 billion sale by Cendant of Travelport to The Blackstone Group, and the $13 billion in spin-offs by Cendant of Realogy and Wyndham Worldwide that resulted in a standalone Avis Budget Group.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Polanco worked in the investment banking group at Credit Suisse First Boston focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry.
Mr. Polanco serves as a Co-Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the College of Arts and Science at New York University. He received a B.S. in Biology and a B.E. in Environmental Engineering from the Dual Degree Program in Science and Engineering at New York University and Stevens Institute of Technology.
