Tim Carlson
Senior Managing Director
Tim Carlson is a Senior Managing Director in the firm’s corporate advisory business.
Mr. Carlson was most recently a Managing Director in J.P. Morgan’s Global Natural Resources Group. With over 14 years of experience at J.P. Morgan and Petrie Parkman & Co., Mr. Carlson has advised many of the leading companies in the sector.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Carlson advised on numerous oil and gas transactions, including mergers, asset sales and purchases, takeover defense, joint ventures, restructuring and minority squeeze-out transactions. Notable transactions include the proposed spin-off of WPX Energy from the Williams Companies, the carve-out of Lone Pine Resources from Forest Oil Corporation, Devon Energy Corporation’s exit from the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Plains Exploration & Production Company’s Haynesville shale joint venture with Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Western Gas Resources’ merger with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Petrohawk Energy Corporation’s merger with KCS Energy Corporation, Cimarex Energy Corporation’s merger with Magnum Hunter Resources, Patina Oil & Gas Company’s merger with Noble Energy Corporation, Tom Brown, Inc.’s merger with Encana Corporation, Westport Resources Corporation’s merger with Kerr-McGee Corporation, Barrett Resources Corporation’s takeover defense and subsequent merger with Williams Companies and the minority squeeze-out transaction involving Vastar Resources, Inc. and BP Amoco.
Mr. Carlson received a B.A. in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University, where he was captain of the golf team and an Academic All-American.
