Gus Christensen is a Managing Director of the firm’s corporate advisory business. Prior to joining Evercore, he was an Associate in the Real Estate Investment Banking group at Goldman Sachs. Prior to business school, Mr. Christensen was a fixed income trader and debt capital markets banker at J.P. Morgan.
While with Evercore, Mr. Christensen has advised clients across a broad range of industries on significant M&A and restructuring transactions. His buyside work includes advising SPX Corporation on its acquisition of ClydeUnion Pumps, Cerberus Capital Management on its acquisition of Tower Automotive and Nuance Communications on multiple transactions, including its acquisitions of Dictaphone and Viecore. His sellside assignments include O’Charley’s Inc. on its sale to Fidelity National Financial, the Special Committee of M&F Worldwide Corporation on its take-private transaction, Performance Food Group on its sale to affiliates of the Blackstone Group and Wellspring Capital Management, Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises on its sale to Citizens Communications and Insight Communications on its sale to the Carlyle Group. Mr. Christensen advised General Motors on its landmark Chapter 11 restructuring. In addition, he has worked on corporate strategy and business development for the firm, including serving as the project manager for Evercore’s own IPO as well as working on its acquisitions of Protego Asesores and Braveheart Financial Services.
Mr. Christensen received his B.A. with distinction from Yale University and his M.B.A. with honors as a Palmer Scholar from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Landmarks Conservancy, where he sits on the Audit and Governance Committees, and of the historic Woodlawn Cemetery, where he sits on the Finance Committee.
