David Y. Ying
Senior Managing Director and Head of Restructuring
David Ying is a Senior Managing Director in our advisory business. He joined Evercore in 2005 and is a co-founder and head of the firm's Restructuring and Debt Advisory Group.
Mr. Ying has over 30 years of experience in restructuring advisory, at Smith Barney and Miller Buckfire Ying & Co, in leveraged finance, at Drexel Burnham Lambert and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and in private equity investing, at JLL Partners. He has been at the forefront of many of the innovations in leveraged finance and restructurings including exchange offers, exit consents, rescue financings, prepackaged bankruptcies and Section 363 sales. Notable recent clients include American International Group, Chrysler, CIT Group, LyondellBasell Industries, MGM Mirage, and Sirius XM Radio.
Mr. Ying has a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
