Senior Managing Director
Lloyd Sprung is a Senior Managing Director of the firm's Restructuring and Debt Advisory Group. Mr. Sprung has advised companies, creditors and equity constituents in restructuring and capital markets transactions across a variety of industries. Mr. Sprung's company side experience includes representing the United States Postal Service, BakerCorp, Advanstar Communications, Aveos Fleet Performance, Interstate Bakeries, Neff, Gate Gourmet, Applied Extrusion Technologies, Pegasus Satellite Communications, IMPATH, Focal Communications and National Airlines. Notable creditor and equity side assignments include the U.S. Department of Energy (for USEC, Inc.) Motor Coach Industries, R.J. O'Brien, Idearc, Tronox, Ion Media Networks, Jameson Inns, Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village, Delta Air Lines, SLI Inc., SpectraSite and Pabst Brewing. Notable financing assignments include Suburban Propane, LyondellBasell, Crown Cork & Seal, Walker, Sonneborn and Bristol Compressors. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Sprung was a Managing Director at Miller Buckfire & Co. Prior to Miller Buckfire and its predecessor firm, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, which he joined in 2001, Mr. Sprung was at Merrill Lynch, where he structured, originated and traded debt derivatives and distressed commercial real estate products and was involved in numerous bond and leveraged loan financing transactions. Mr. Sprung is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association. The restructuring of Interstate Bakeries was recognized as "Transaction of the Year" by the Turnaround Management Association in 2009. Mr. Sprung has a M.B.A (with high distinction) from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar and a B.A. (summa cum laude) in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
