Senior Managing Director
Daniel Celentano is a Senior Managing Director. He leads our Restructuring Advisory EMEA-focused business and is based in London.
Mr. Celentano has advised companies, their stakeholders and acquirers in many of the largest and most complex restructurings and associated capital raises across a diverse range of industries, with a particular emphasis on international transactions. He has played a leading role in achieving both in- and out-of-court solutions, the latter of which have included English Schemes of Arrangement and filings under Chapter 11 and CCAA.
Recent clients include noteholders of Canada-based Pacific Exploration, Oaktree in the distressed acquisition of Denmark-based TORM, Norway-based Eitzen Chemical Tankers, Israel-based ZIM Integrated Shipping, lenders to Dubai-based Dubai World, Kuwait-based Global Investment House, US / Luxembourg-based LyondellBasell, General Motors Corporation in connection with the Delphi Corporation Chapter 11 case in parallel with the GM Chapter 11, lenders to Australia-based Centro, Time Warner in its acquisition of the assets of Adelphia Communications in its Chapter 11 case, and Arthur Andersen parent, Andersen Worldwide, in the distressed sale of its consulting business in the aftermath of Arthur Andersen’s failure.
Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Celentano was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns. At Bear, Mr. Celentano served as Head of its Financial Restructuring Group and was responsible for the management of the approval process for all debt and equity financing transactions executed by the Global Investment Banking Division. Mr. Celentano commenced his financial career in 1977 at Citibank, N.A. in its World Corporation Group.
Mr. Celentano holds an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. with Honors from Holy Cross College. Mr. Celentano has served as a member of the Board of the Turnaround Management Association and presently serves as Honorary Trustee of Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York.
